MEGAN JEROME
Friday Feb 27, 7:30pm. Arrive between 7pm and 7:20pm. Following family singsongs and classical and jazz piano training, Megan Jerome has honed a soulful and eclectic, free-spirited style of singing, playing piano, arranging and songwriting imbued with sensitivity and beauty. Her songs are raw, fragile, bold, intimate, sparse, and full of light! Megan has self-produced four albums delighting critics, audiences, and topping CBC and community radio station charts nationwide. Described by poet David O’Meara as “not only one of our most interesting artists, also one of our most interested artists” Megan is inspired by Marc Chagall paintings, time spent in Paris and New Orleans, rip-roaring chic-lit, eclectic decorating books, field recordings, and grooves and bass lines that make her move! Megan put on a great show! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.

Pat Moore &
Pat McLaughlin have been playing together for over 15 years… "their music flows like conversation." I've been hosting house concerts in my home for a couple of years…it was never my plan to become a venue for music as my heart is first in playing and writing music. That said it's always wonderful to fill my home with great music, and good people. I'm often asked when I'm going to do a concert myself…so Pat and I decided to do just that! Come join us on June 6, 2014. Louis Schryer with Pat McLaughlin
5 time Canadian Master Fiddle Champion, Louis Schryer is one of the most entertaining performers you will EVER see. He brings you across the spectrum of emotion…from lively as any, to tender and beautiful. This is a rare opportunity to see a master up close and personal. Accompanied by Pat McLaughin on guitar, a simply wonderful musician as well, you will be thoroughly entertained. Rumours are I will join them for a couple of tunes. CELTICITY
Seems like we're on a celtic theme! Arthur McGregor is well known as the Owner and operator of the Ottawa Folklore Centre. For years Arthur put his performing on the back burner as he developed the OFC into the landmark it is today. Now, and for the last few years, he and his wife Wendy Moore have been actively sharing their musical talents with audiences on both sides "of the pond". Celticity draws influences from both sides of the North Atlantic. Songs and tunes from Scotland, Ireland, Newfoundland, the Canadian Mainland and the USA along with some original music guarantee an eclectic show. Harp, guitar, tin whistle, oboe, autoharp, banjo, bodhran and English horn all find their way in to their repertoire. Wendy is classically trained and played with the Kingston Symphony for years and has created and led the Celtic Rathskallions, a touring children's group, for over 15 years. Arthur is the founder and director of the Ottawa Folklore Centre and, even though he's played for years, has recently found his voice and guitar fingers. Celticity grew from the love of the music and joy of performing for grown-ups too! Cyril MacPhee
Cyril grew up as the sixth child in a musical Cape Breton family so it's no surprise that he's very much at home on stage . He's shared the stage with artists such as The Rankins, Natalie MacMaster, Bruce Guthro, Ashley MacIsaac, Gordie Sampson, J.P. Cormier, Buddy MacDonald, Dave Gunning to name a few. His musical influences are extremely varied, from the Beatles to Harry Hibbs and this shows in his songwriting and musical style. Pete Deachman
Lead singer and front man for the popular Ont bluegrass band Handsome Molly, Pete will take you on a musical journey with his expressive textured voice and solid guitar playing. Pete's solo show blends the various roots styles; from great original story songs to iconic Guy Clark…and of course, bluegrass. This promises to be a wonderful evening. Ps. It's Pete's birthday celebration. Keith Glass
Singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist (guitar, mandolin, bass), and producer. As a founding member, guitarist, and songwriter with Prairie Oyster, Keith has received critical acclaim, including multiple Juno and CCMA awards. In 2008, Prairie Oyster was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame. Keith and his bandmates were also the recipients of a SOCAN lifetime achievement award. Shawn Tavenier
Lead singer and songwriter for Silver Creek, Shawn is taking time from the road, and the full band format to present some heartfelt roots tunes in this intimate setting. You'll love his voice, his songs, and you'll just plain love Shawn Tavenier. Joining Shawn will be Nick Gauthier, Silver Creek's lead guitarist and multi-instrumentalist hailing from from North Rustico, PEI. https://www.facebook.com/silvercreekmusic |
